Si-Fu Leigh Duff
Si-Fu Leigh Duff has studied various Martial Arts styles for over 26 years including MMA, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Traditional Karate and Freestyle Karate.
In 2000 Leigh started training in Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu under Si-Fu Alfredo Del-Brocco. With 13 years experience in Traditional Wing Chun, Leigh is currently graded to level 10 Instructor under the Global Wing Chun Kung Fu Association and was personally assessed by Grandmaster William Cheung.
Sifu Leigh is a direct student of Si-Fu Alfredo Del-Brocco and Grandmaster William Cheung and frequently participates in classes and private tuition instruction with both instructors.
Si-Fu Leigh has experience in both street and competition environments, however prefers to teach the street defence aspect of combat to students for self defence. During his time in the Police Service, Si-Fu Leigh gained a great deal of knowledge and practical experience in street combat and violent situations which provided him with the opportunity to test the application of Traditional Wing Chun in real life situations.
Si-Fu Leigh believes that Traditional Wing Chun should be taught to those people who are not only serious about being able to protect themselves in real violent situations with one or more attackers, but to those people who are interested in a more holistic approach to martial arts including managing stress, treating injuries and illness and increasing their overall health and well being.
Si-Fu Nicola Duff
Si-Fu Nicola Duff has over 13 years experience in Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu and has trained in various martial art styles including Tae-Kwon-Do, Kickboxing, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and MMA.
Nicola has a Bachelor of Education Degree with Honours and has been a full time Primary School Teacher for over 13 years.
Nicola started training Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu under Si-Fu Alfredo Del-Brocco and is currently assessed to level 9. Nicola regularly trains with her husband Si-Fu Leigh Duff as well as being a direct student of Si-Fu Alfredo Del-Brocco and under the guidance Grandmaster Cheung.
Si-Fu Nicola enjoys Traditional Wing Chun due to the many benefits it has to offer including self defence, fitness, health and wellbeing. Si-Fu Nicola also enjoys teaching how effective and beneficial Traditional Wing Chun can be for other female students and has a strong interest in CMT and Iso Chi.
Si-Fu Nicola also has a strong focus in teaching young children and actively teaches students in all classes with Si-Fu Leigh including specialised children’s classes.
Si-Fu Todd de Quincey
Si-Fu Todd began his training in Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu in 2007. In 2011 Todd commenced further training under the instruction of Tasmanian Chief instructor Si-Fu Leigh Duff. Following an intense training program with Si-Fu Leigh, Todd was assessed to Level 7 & awarded his instructor position and title of Si-Fu.
Si-Fu Todd is now the Northern Tasmanian representative for the World Wing Chun Kung Fu Association – Tasmania and is the head instructor of the Launceston kwoon. Si-Fu Todd was first attracted to Traditional Wing Chun by its focus on street self-defence and its scientific, principle based approach.
Si-Fu Todd is a closed door student to Si-Fu Leigh where he regularly receives private tuition and participates in private training sessions. Si-Fu Todd also has a strong interest in the area of strength and fitness training. Todd works continuously to improve his Wing Chun and looks forward to showing others the effectiveness of the Traditional Wing Chun System.
Todd is a professional full time Accountant and currently resides in Launceston.
Si-Hing Ken Harriss
Ken began his Wing Chun journey in 2001 under Si Bok Alfredo on the North West coast of Tasmania, and is currently assessed to level 8 by Si-Fu Leigh Duff. He initial turned to Wing Chun as a way to stay fit after many years of playing Rugby Union and Rugby League as well as a way for his family to meet new people after they moved to the North West coast for work as a Registered Nurse in the ICU of the NW Regional Hospital Burnie.
“These may not be the best reasons to walk through the front door of a kwoon but the decision to step through that door is one that I’ve never regretted. Since that first class I have loved every minute of my Wing Chun journey, it is a journey for life, and one where you’ll never stop learning.”
Ken has experience in both competition and street arenas as well as in other martial art systems. Ken is a highly respected by both his fellow students and instructors alike. Ken can also be found conducting classes from time to time in Si-Fu’s Leigh’s absence and also provides support to enhance the learning of junior and senior students in and out of class time. With over 10 years experience in Traditional Wing Chun, Ken is a fantastic addition to the World Wing Chun Kung Fu Association’s high level of excellence.
